Drafting a New Story: Women's Rights in the Middle East

Submissions Welcome! Please submit your original pieces of non-fiction, fiction, poetry, art, or political analysis.

Sawt al Niswa, a Feminist Collective based in Beirut, has released this video on racism in Lebanon as part of its women “video workshop: the diary” series.  The workshops, which train women on various aspects of video production, including lighting & audio, cinematography, and editing, feature hot-button issues in Lebanon.  We’ve previously highlighted another of Sawt al Niswa’s videos, which exposes the daily pains of sexual harassment in Lebanon, on our blog.  Though gender issues are less explicit in this latest video–racism is the issue of concern here–gender still figures prominently into discussion of race.
